Scoring off the Field is a stellar example of my favorite trope, the friends to lovers romance.
It's rare that the female lead is my favorite character in a romance, but Tennyson is a spitfire and won me over from the very beginning. I admired her ability to stand up for what she needed and deserved in her life. While she assisted in organizing Dom's life, she was not a doormat. I love that she went on to pursue her own educational and work goals. I especially loved when she decided she'd make her play for Dom, even if it was to be a short term situation. As for Dom, he truly is one of the "good guys" and very protective of the bond that he shares with Tenny. He's made her education possible, ensured she lived in safe place, and was such a good friend to her. So, what happens when you take two really great characters and a moment happens that has them looking at each other differently? One word-Sparks!!! Sparks so hot I was afraid my kindle might catch fire! Perfect chemistry, y'all! So perfect, I read the book again as soon as I finished. Scoring off the Field will forever be one of my go-to Friends to Lovers books!

If you love friends to lovers romances (or even if you don't), you'll love this novel. Tenny and Dom have been friends since they met in a foster home years ago. They've been each other's family ever since, only Tenny's been in love with Dom for years. Since Dom has made it clear they could never be anything more, she realizes she needs some space. Something changes in Dom and the attraction becomes mutual and unstoppable. I just love these two together. They care for each other with a fierceness and the threat of losing what they had was real. But the passion and chemistry was off the charts and a total fun read!
This was the second book in the wags series from Naima Simone. Tennyson Clark is trying to move on in her life and that includes moving away from the one person that she is in love with and that she is closest to, her best friend Dominic Anderson star quarterback for the Seattle warriors. Tenny is also Dom’s PA so when she tells him she is changing jobs that changes everything with the stress of everything. Can they work through their feelings or will they ruin their friendship.

This book was so good friends to lovers, unrequited love it’s all here. I could not put this book down.
Scoring off the Field is a sweet and spicy friends to lovers story. Dom is a star quarterback who is devoted to the game and will let no woman in. He’s been there, done that and not doing that again. Dom’s assistant and best friend Tennyson Clark has loved him for years. She is tired of watching his one night stands traipse past her while she gets relegated to the friend zone. Not that being his BFF is a bad thing but she wants so much more. It is time for her to move on. It’s a case of you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. What will Dom do to keep Tenny in his life?
I loved Dom and Tenny’s back story. This is romance at its finest.

Oh the dreaded friend zone. That is where Tennyson finds herself with her bff & employer Dominic. Tennyson & Dominic have been friends since they were young kids and placed in the same foster home. They became family to each other, the one constant the other could depend on. But then Tennyson’s feeling started to change and she started to fall in love with Dom. After a drunken night years ago Tennyson expressed her feeling to Dom and that is when he relegated her to the friend zone. Tennyson finally had enough of watching Dom date and sleep with all different models and actresses that she decides she needs to quit working for him and move out on her own. When she gets a job offer that would take her away from Dom he realizes that he needs Tennyson in his life because that is why he is the man he is today. It isn’t football or his deceased parents that he is trying to be perfect for but Tennyson.
After a few close encounters but not close enough for Tennyson her and Dom finally sleep together. And holy cow they were hot! It was everything that Tennyson wanted. Dom knew it was different with Tennyson but he wasn’t at the point yet where he knew what or why.
I loved these two as a couple. Tennyson stood on her own and didn’t crumble even when the easiest thing would have been to do what she always did and that was what was best for Dom. She always put herself second to Dom. She was finally putting herself first even after sleeping with Dom she still was going ahead with her plan of getting a new job.
Another great book in the WAGS series and I can’t wait to read more.
