My fav book of this prolific author & it far outshines any other Romeo & Juliet novel on the market. Brilliantly done!

I am not a fan of spy novels, but I must say that I am impressed.
The story draws in the reader; not only by the intrigue of espionage at the time of Nazi Germany in 1942, but with the superb way the author describes and develops the main characters, stirring all the emotional senses for the reader..

The novel is very well written, centering around murder, deception, betrayal and broken dreams for the main characters Christopher Chandler, Canadian born Naval Officer and German spy, who is sent on a mission to Jeckyll Island in the state of Georgia, who through out the span of his career has had three alias Michael, Eric and Chris. And American born Meara O'Hara, innocent, young, lovely, unaware of his extremely dangerous secret life, falls in love with the handsome, evasive, mysterious officer. The story spans over twenty one years of regrets, and hatred, that tries to succeed in ravaging the strong love between the two hurting souls. It is easy to feel the emotions that tears at the two, when meeting again twenty one years later, under murderous circumstances. Yet, the unwavering longing and deep love for one another they have carried through out the years, despite the emotional pain and suffering they both endured, is stronger than any thing else.

A must read. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely loved this book! Even though I actually know the author, I was intrigued the whole time and ended up sitting at the edge of my seat. To say the least I became very involved with the characters. Patricia Potter is one of my favorite authors!
The WWII era pulled the reader in and the island setting and its history made for an interesting read, all on top of a great main character. The conclusion, which took place years later, bringing in a touch of Nazi holdover revenge, was believable and satisfying.
Do not walk, do not pass go, do not collect $200...Just BUY THIS BOOK! It is an exquisite story of a German spy and a young innocent girl who fall in love. It kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I read it as slowly as I could, to make it last. And will read it again.
