Love the Castle of dark dreams series. Kayla and Thorn. I know this was their love story but I found I wanted to hear more about Sparkle and Ganymede. I even found Vincent to be more interesting. Kayla really wasn't a likeable character. I was very surprised she got away with asking so many direct and none of your business questions and no one stopped to ask her just who in the heck she was to be asking. I really hate it when she with no powers at all decided to channel her inner Xena warrior princess and throw herself into a battle that she could have been killed in.Therefore jeapordizing the outcome and Thorn having to stop what he's doing to make sure she gets her stupid self to safety. Now I know Ganymede could have picked a better time to demand answers. In front of a room full of people was embarrassing but I thought Sparkle didn't get embarrassed. Go figure. However she was cruel with the things she said to him. And is there anything better than Ganymede in human form? No

In the middle of an all around challenging week, a new Nina Bangs book arrives. Great rejoicing! Turn off the cell, close the door, dive into the book... only to discover that this one was not as "fun" as the others in the series. What a bummer.

Authors -- pay attention here... If you are going to deviate from the formula you have followed for the last 10+ books, give your loyal readers a head-up! Tell us on the back cover, warn us in the publishers excerpt, or get Harriet to mention it in her review. But don't short-change the readers on the HEA when you have always provided it in the past without at least a word of caution. If I had known it was going to be like that, I would have saved it for a day when I did not NEED a great escapist read. As it was, I expected to have a fun break from my day but I felt like I had been let down at the end of the book.

Still 4 stars because it is Nina Bangs and her books are wildly imaginative and clever, but lost a star for not improving my day at all.
I have yet to have a bad book from Nina Bangs. My wife showed me the first of her books and I fell deeply engrossed in her series.
A new exciting book from Nina Bangs is always a thrill. I was pretty upset by the ending though. I have to say it surprised me a lot. Not that it was a bad ending, but I am holding my breath for the next Castle of Dreams book to make sure the characters come back and how! amazing writing! I only wish I could think if things like this. But it was very heartwarming
There's not a lot that makes this latest trip to the Castle of Dark Dreams stand out when all is said and done, but I did like the pairing, and the competing 'amusement' park offers the chance for a nice fantasy interlude and there is action a plenty which turns enemies into allies. And with the fall out from this book it looks like it's about time for a Sparkle/Mede book...
This one made no sense! Sparkle's assistant being told everything before she even officially started the job rather than 'discovering' the weird happenings at the castle on her own had me scratching my head. And Ganymede going off the rails like he did just because Sparkle had an affair centuries ago made absolutely no sense in the vast context of this series.
Well, that was just sad. I cried by the time I turned the last page
But. Thorn and Kayla, well. That is a whole other story.

My very first paranormal romance was My wicked Vampire and then I was hooked for life!! Nina Bangs is an amazing writer. Her books are a laugh out loud steamy kinda hilarious feel good can't wait for the next book kinda thing!! I'm so in love with all her characters and feel good vibe from all of her books, I really can't get enough of them. If you haven't read any of her work I'd tell you that your in for a real treat, so sit down, get comfy and enjoy (you'll thank me later, trust me.) ❤❤❤❤❤🤗😄
